A motorcyclist is dead following an auto accident in Garden City. 

Detectives say a 26-year-old man was driving a Honda CBR600 motorbike on Stewart Avenue Saturday afternoon when he crashed into a Hyundai sedan and was tossed from the bike.

It happened at the intersection of Tanners Pond Road as the Hyundai was turning south on Edgemere Road. 

Police say the unidentified motorcyclist suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai was not injured and remained at the scene. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
