A Freeport man is accused of robbing a pharmacy in Bellmore, but police say the pharmacist fought back.
Police say Marc Gumpert entered Precision Pharmacy on Merrick Road at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday and demanded drugs from the pharmacist.
The pharmacist complied, then followed 43-year-old Gumpert outside,where he allegedly pulled out a knife.
Police say the robbery victim pulled out a licensed revolver and shot the rear tire of the suspect's car.
Authorities spotted the vehicle a short time later. Gumpert faces robbery and weapons charges.
