Police say a man who was caught photographing children at the Bethpage Air Show on Saturday was arrested on child pornography charges.
According to state park police, a mother noticed a man taking pictures of her 5-year-old daughter at the air show at Jones Beach. Police then confronted the man, identified as 21-year-old John Meehan, of North Babylon.
Prosecutors tell News 12 that Meehan was taking pictures of two children at the show using a cellphone and a camera. They say they found more than 100 illicit photos of children on him.
Police arrested Meehan, then searched his Hunter Avenue home, where they say they confiscated all of the computers in the home for further investigation.
Meehan is charged with possession of sexual performance of a child, and unlawful surveillance.
He was ordered held on $50,000 bail at his arraignment on Sunday and is due back in court on May 30.
