Investigators say the man grabbed the woman's wallet at the Panera eatery located on Commerce Drive in Riverhead back on May 6.
He then went to the nearby Target store and used stolen credit cards to buy more than $5,500 worth of goods.
Police have just released surveillance images of the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to call Riverhead police at 631-727-4500, ext. 332.
