The search is on for the man behind a carjacking in Mineola and police say they know who they are looking for.

Detectives say on Wednesday, Patrick Blaszkiewicz demanded a 62-year-old woman exit her vehicle parked in front of 250 Old Country Road.

Police say as she got out of the 2019 Cadillac SUV, Blaszkiewicz got in and drove westbound.

Detectives say he had just been released from Nassau Police after being arraigned for a different crime.
