Police are looking for a man they say sat inside a vehicle that was not his and stole a laptop Tuesday morning.
According to officials, the suspect was seen on home surveillance video walking into a driveway on North Albany Avenue in North Massapequa. He is then seen sitting in the driver's seat for a few minutes before finally making off with the laptop.
Police say the suspect continued to check the doors of another car on the property. He then tried another vehicle on the block. Both vehicles were locked.
This is the latest incident in a string of robberies in Nassau County. A problem that police say has hit North Massapequa particularly hard.
In early May, the same surveillance video captured four people stealing tires and rims right out of parked cars in the street.
The thieves hit five vehicles in North Massapequa and another two in Hicksville, police say.
Authorities say it is not clear whether the rim thefts and the stolen laptop are connected.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
