Police say a man is wanted in connection to a Saturday afternoon shooting in Wyandanch that left a Deer Park man injured .
Authorities say it happened on Long Island Avenue just before 4 p.m.
According to detectives, the 23-year-old man was outside an autobody shop when he was approached by a man and shot twice.
The victim then ran to a friend's house on Lakewood Street and called 911.
He was then taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
Police say the shooter ran away.
Detectives urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
