Police: Man fired gun at Hempstead police after traffic stop

Police say Christopher Anderson took off Tuesday night when police tried to pull him over on Greenwich Street and Jerusalem Avenue in Hempstead.

Police say a Roosevelt man has been arrested and is accused of shooting at Hempstead police officers.
Police say Christopher Anderson took off Tuesday night when police tried to pull him over on Greenwich Street and Jerusalem Avenue in Hempstead.
Anderson eventually stopped on East Pennywood Avenue, got out of the car and fired at police.
No one was hurt during the incident.
Anderson is charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
