A man was fatally struck by a golf cart in Centerport, police say.

Danny Demopoulos, 83, was hit by the vehicle at the Town of Huntington Senior Beach House on Aug. 28.

Demopoulos died at the hospital on Sept. 1.

Police say the driver of the golf cart is part of the Suffolk County Department of Labor.

They say charges are not being filed.
