Suffolk County police say a man was fatally shot in Copiague Wednesday.

Detectives say the initial call for the shooting on Court Street came in around 3:50 p.m.

Suffolk police command post arrived around 6 p.m. to investigate the scene.

News 12 spoke to witnesses who say the gunshots were so loud that they came out of their nearby offices to see what happened.
