Police: Man faces multiple charges for scamming elderly people out of thousands of dollars

Detectives say approximately $420,000 in total was stolen by Kenneth McConnell, of East Islip.

Nassau County police say an East Islip man is facing multiple charges for stealing thousands in an "elderly scam".
They say Kenneth McConnell was paid by a woman in Woodmere for household work that was never performed. McConnell is also accused of taking jewelry from her home, selling it at a local pawn shop, and depositing fraudulent checks into his personal bank without her knowledge.
Detectives say approximately $420,000 in total was stolen.
