A woman was hit and killed by a Suffolk County bus in Port Jefferson Station.
Police say Carrie Sansone was hit while running across Route 25A around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The incident happened just a few blocks from the train tracks near Maple Avenue.
The 62-year-old died at the hospital.
There was one person on board the bus.
Both the driver and the passenger were not hurt.
