Police say a man was arrested for driving high after slamming into parked cars and overturning his vehicle in Port Jefferson Station.
The incident happened Monday around 9 p.m. on Jayne Boulevard near Dillon Avenue.
According to police, 29-year-old Brandon Sheridan, of Rocky Point, was driving a work van that belonged to Modern Comfort Pools in Coram. They say Sheridan was driving southbound when his van swerved into the shoulder, smashed two parked cars and flipped over.
First responders were able to rescue Sheridan. He was then rushed to Stony Brook Hospital for minor injuries.
Police say Sheridan told first responders that he had taken Xanex and Adderall that were prescribed to him. They say he had the medication on him, and couldn't walk or even stand straight.
Sheridan was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. A judge set bail at $750 cash.
Modern Comfort Pools had no comment for News 12.
