According to police, a 38-year-old man was sitting in his car in North Amityville when he was shot in the chest.
The man was shot on Walnut Road around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.
In video from the scene, police were seen blocking off the street and officers walking with police dogs.
No arrests have been made.
