Police: Man crashed stolen car into officer's cruiser in East Hills

According to police, they spotted two SUVs speeding on Glen Cove Road around 4 a.m. Friday.

Nassau police say a Bronx man crashed a stolen car into a police vehicle in East Hills.
According to police, they spotted two SUVs speeding on Glen Cove Road around 4 a.m. Friday. When an officer tried to pull them over, the cars kept going, police say.
One of the drivers tried to hit the officer’s patrol car, but as it sped away, the car then struck a pole, crashed into a tree and then struck the police cruiser.
The driver, Rodolfo Lopez, was arrested and is now facing numerous charges including assault and unlawful fleeing.
The driver of the other car took off.
The officer was treated and released from the hospital.
