A man has been charged with murder in connection with human remains found off the Meadowbrook Parkway in Uniondale.

Police say Jeustin David Maldonado, of Uniondale, was arrested in July.

Police have not yet said who the victim was or how the person died, but they are talking about what led them to the arrest.

“Over the last six years, we've noticed there’s about five factions of MS-13 members of groups that were acting. Information from all of those other cases, developed the information that brings us to that area and other evidence indicated Jeustin was a big part of that,” says Lt. Detective Stephen Fitzpatrick.

 Police say they expect to arrest at least four other people in the case.
