Police: Man arrested for striking Black Lives Matter protesters in Huntington Station
Police say Anthony Cambareri was driving his Toyota Rav4 westbound on Broadway just before 7 p.m. Monday when the incident occurred.

Police say a Coram man who struck Black Lives Matter protesters in Huntington Station Monday with his vehicle is facing assault charges.
At the time, a group of 25 people, undeterred by the rain, started marching along Broadway while being escorted by Suffolk police. But then witnesses say a driver came toward them.
“He slowed down, he saw us, he accelerated,” said Matthew Williams. “That is the image in my eyes that I saw.”
Williams says he saw two of his fellow demonstrators struck by a Toyota RAV4 traveling westbound on Broadway. One of them was seriously hurt.
“I saw his body go on top of that car and roll off,” Williams said.
Police say they responded and caught up with the driver Anthony Cambareri, 36, a short distance away as demonstrators quickly surrounded the vehicle.
Cambareri was charged with third-degree assault. His vehicle was impounded and he was given a desk appearance ticket.
Police say those hurt were taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
News 12 went to Cambareri's home in Coram but there was no answer.
