A man is accused of attempting to rob an Elmont store.

Police say 22-year-old Al Toussaint walked into Your Food & Snack Zone on Dutch Broadway and tried to buy a smoking product.

When he couldn't provide proof of age, News 12 has been told Toussaint pulled a knife and threatened the clerk - demanding the product.

Police say another employee was able to call 911, but then Toussaint kicked the exit door, breaking the glass and ran away.

Toussaint was later found and put under arrest.

He's facing multiple charges.
