A thief stole jewelry from the Macy’s at the Roosevelt Field Mall in a smash- and-grab robbery Wednesday afternoon, according to Nassau police.
The incident happened at around noon. Images obtained exclusively by News 12 show a large hole in the glass display case at the jewelry counter.
It's unclear how much jewelry was taken. So far, no arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for the mall’s operator, Simon Property Group, says it has a commitment to security.
Safety measures include 24/7 trained security personnel, a K-9 handler and a police substation.
