Police on Long Island stopped a scam after a 75-year-old man from
New Mexico was tricked into sending thousands of dollars to a home in Southampton.
Suffolk police say
the 75-year-old man shipped $8,500 cash to a home in the Village of
Southampton.
The man believed
he was a lottery winner and that the money would pay fees for him
to collect his prize.
Police waited
after the package arrived, but no one was there. No arrests have
been made yet.
