Police intercept money shipped to Southampton as part of senior scam

Police on Long Island stopped a scam after a 75-year-old man from New Mexico was tricked into sending thousands of dollars to a home in Southampton.
Suffolk police say the 75-year-old man shipped $8,500 cash to a home in the Village of Southampton.
The man believed he was a lottery winner and that the money would pay fees for him to collect his prize. 
Police waited after the package arrived, but no one was there. No arrests have been made yet.
