The victim killed in Friday's double shooting in Hempstead has been identified by police as 30-year-old Demetrius Winfield.
They say the other victim suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. Friday morning on Wellesely Street.
Police have not released many details, but said they are looking for at least one shooter.
