A Huntington Station man is seriously injured after being hit by a sanitation truck Friday.
It happened near the intersection of New York Avenue and West 11th Street.
Police say the 61-year-old man was walking in the roadway around 7:30 p.m. when he was hit.
He was taken to the hospital in a helicopter with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The truck driver was not hurt.
