Police: Hookah bar and lounge shut down in Elmont; owner facing charges

Police say officers responded to the Temptations Hookah Bar and Lounge on Hempstead Turnpike.

Police say a bar in Elmont was shut down and its owner is under arrest.

According to police, officers responded to the Temptations Hookah Bar and Lounge located on Hempstead Turnpike.

An investigation revealed the bar was operating without a valid New York state liquor license.

Officers also observed two games of chance gambling machines present inside the establishment.

The Town of Hempstead Buildings Department and the Nassau County Fire Marshal issued the owner multiple summons and the location was boarded, locked and secured.

The owner, Defendant Alex Bonilla, 40, of Elmont, was charged with two counts of possession of a gambling device and sale without an appropriate license.
