Police: Hempstead woman faces charges for threatening man with ice pick and injuring officer

A Hempstead woman is facing charges after threatening a man with an icepick on Friday morning and injuring an officer while in police custody.
Detectives say officers responded to a call reporting a disturbance in the parking lot of 380 Nassau Road in Roosevelt. Upon arrival, police were informed that Tyneesha Anderson, 32, was yelling at a 32-year-old man and threatened him with an ice pick.
Anderson was taken by police and transported to Nassau University Medical Center for evaluation. While at the hospital, police say she kicked an officer in the chest and face.
Police say the officer is recovering from their injuries. Anderson faces multiple charges including assault.
