Police: Franklin Square man accused of sexually abusing 11-year-old girl inside Sephora at Roosevelt Field mall

An 11-year-old was the alleged victim of a sexual abuse that took place inside the Roosevelt Field mall Tuesday evening, according to Nassau County police. Investigators accused Riken Acharya, 21, of inappropriately touching the girl inside the Sephora at the mall just before 6 p.m. Officers said Acharya ran from the store but was quickly arrested nearby. Nassau County police charged the Franklin Square man with first degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. Acharya is expected to be arraigned later this morning at First District Court in Hempstead. Nassau County police are looking for other potential victims and ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
