A Glen Head restaurant employee arrested and accused of attempting to record a woman inside the bathroom has been arraigned.
Police say a 27-year-old female was using the restroom and noticed a recording cellphone taped under the sink pointed at her. The woman took the cellphone and called police. Detectives say the woman observed a Hispanic male employee exiting the woman's bathroom at Jack's Shack restaurant located at Glen Cove Avenue.
Edward Ramirez, 43, of Glen Cove, was identified as the suspect, according to police. Ramirez is an employee at the restaurant and was the person seen leaving the bathroom.
Ramirez was arrested and charged with attempted unlawful surveillance in the second degree. Bail was set at $15,000.
Ramirez will appear in court again on June 29.
News 12 Long Island has learned Ramirez was arrested last December for allegedly exposing himself to two young children in a Glen Cove supermarket where he worked.
Jack's Shack officials told News 12 that they fired Ramirez and were not aware of his previous arrest when he was hired in March.
