10h agoAn East Northport woman has been arrested for allegedly driving the wrong way in Smithtown Tuesday while under the influence.
It happened around 7 p.m. on New York State Route 347.
An off-duty officer says he noticed 66-year-old Marisa Soares heading west in the eastbound lanes near Mount Pleasant Road.
Soares is charged with driving while ability impaired after allegedly drinking and taking drugs.
The officer who caught the driver was on his way home from receiving an award for impaired.
