A Huntington Station man is accused of driving drunk and smashing into a parked vehicle with his two young children in the car.
Police say 42-year-old Duhaney Duncan struck a minivan that was parked in front of a pizza restaurant on Jericho Turnpike at around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Fred Moghaddam, of Brooklyn Pizza restaurant, says he heard a bang, and one of his employees told him his car had been hit. "I came out to see a silver pickup truck with two kids in it," he says.
Moghaddam says Duncan was trying to flee after the crash, but he and a customer were able to keep him at the scene until police arrived.
According to court documents, Duncan told police that he had two beers before driving with his daughters in the car. The children are ages 1 and 2, police say.
Duncan was arraigned today on charges of DWI, aggravated DWI under Leandra's Law and child endangerment in Central Islip court.
A woman who answered the door at Duncan's Huntington Station home today would not comment on the arrest.
