Police say a Glen Cove man was passed out drunk behind the wheel of his car in front of police headquarters.
News 12’s camera was there as 50-year old Fernando Arriaga was led from court in Glen Cove Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Arriaga was nearly five times the legal limit when police found him at 8:30 a.m. Monday parked in his truck on Bridge Street. He was allegedly passed out with a bottle of tequila next to him. He was found parked directly in front of Glen Cove police headquarters.
In court, the prosecutor said Arriaga was given a Breathalyzer at the scene and blew a 0.39. Two hours later, police say Arriaga blew a 0.26.
Arriaga's sister said he's a married father of two who works hard.
Arriaga pleaded not guilty in court. His attorney says his client has never been arrested before.
He was held on $2,500 bail.
