Officials say three men were arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop in Glen Cove yielded hundreds of bags of heroin.
Glen Cove police and the DEA arrested Brian Chattoo, 28, Jairo Bisono, 28, and Jeffrey Ventura, 29, Tuesday in Glen Cove.
They say the Queens men were pulled over with 544 bags of heroin in a hidden compartment inside their vehicle. Police say they also had 18 Ziploc bags of crack.
Officials say they seized an additional 230 bags of heroin during the investigation that the men allegedly sold in the North Shore area.
Glen Cove Police Chief William Whitton told News 12 Long Island that their investigation began last summer and "culminated with the arrest of three very dangerous individuals."
"For them being incarcerated now, the world is a little bit of a better place," said Whitton.
The defendants were charged with multiple felonies, including criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy.
