A driver veered off the road, slammed through a fence and crashed into a West Babylon home Monday morning, police say.
The driver fled shortly after the 8 a.m. accident on Little East Neck Road and Gordon Avenue, according to officials.
No injuries were reported, but police say someone left an inmate bracelet inside the Nissan Maxima, which was worn by someone in jail.
Neighbors say cars have crashed into homes in the area before. They blame what they call a dangerous intersection, and say they want authorities to install a stop light.
In August, a 17-year-old girl who was the passenger in another crash died at the intersection.
Residents say there was ice on the road at the time of the crash.
A Town of Babylon spokesman says the area doesn't have enough traffic to meet federal requirements to install a traffic light.
