Police say the death of a woman found Thursday morning at Smith Point County Park appears to be noncriminal in nature.

The woman has been identified as 67-year-old Christine Brown, of Bellport.

Detectives say her SUV was stuck in the sand about a quarter-mile away from her body.

There's no word on whether the bitter cold played a role in the death. The county medical examiner is working to determine an exact cause.
