Police and teens are coming together in a community hit hard by gang violence. The Hoops for Peace tournament allows police and teens to come together during a time of high gang related crimes.

Police and teens are coming together in a community hit hard by gang violence.
The Hoops for Peace tournament allows police and teens to come together during a time of high gang related crimes.
Suffolk police say five people have been murdered in Brentwood in the last month. All of their deaths are believed to be gang related.
Anthony Jimenez is a guidance counselor and boys' basketball coach at Brentwood high school. 
He says he was approached by the Suffolk County Police Department to help organize the event. 
"We just really wanted to bring something positive to this community, because it is a great community, and we need to highlight that," says Community Liaison Officer Eiffel Ramirez.
