Police say three people were hit by a car in Syosset Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. Officials say more than a dozen police cars responded to the scene at Jericho Turnpike and Underhill Boulevard.
Witness Lisa Zitoli told News 12 it was a chaotic scene.
“We ran outside and there's three pedestrians laying in the middle of Jericho Turnpike,” she said. “There's traffic jam, there's cops, there's ambulance.”
The victims were taken to a hospital. Police say the driver stayed at the scene.
