Police: Car slams into Hicksville home, causing major damage

One person was upstairs at the time and was not injured.

A car slammed into a Hicksville house on Gables Road Wednesday at around noon, police say.
The car punched a hole through the front of the home, came out through the side of the house and then crashed into a detached garage.
It's unclear if the driver of the car or the passenger were hurt, but the person inside the home say both appeared uninjured.
One person was upstairs at the time and was not injured.
He says the room the vehicle went through was his parents' bedroom. Fortunately, they were out getting lunch at the time.
Neighbors were stunned to see what happened.
"You're supposed to be safe at home and a car goes flying through," says Lorraine Burnard. "This person did not put their foot on the brake. It's obvious."
It's unclear if the driver of the car or the passenger were hurt, but the person inside the home says both appeared uninjured.
It is not known was caused the car to crash through the house.
