Police are on the hunt for a driver wanted for fleeing the scene of a deadly crash on the Southern State Parkway Friday morning.
The crash occurred at around 6:30 a.m. in South Farmingdale, snarling traffic during the morning commute.
The victim, Sherman Richardson, was killed when his car collided with an SUV. The driver then allegedly fled the scene.
The suspect's car, a Chevy Captiva, was found burning on 44th Street in North Amityville about 10 hours after the crash.
Police have not released details about the vehicle's owner, but they say no accelerants were found at the site.
