Police confiscated more than 100 pounds of cocaine, $5 million in cash and an array of guns in a bust of what officials are calling the largest cocaine network in Suffolk history.
Authorities say the bust capped a three month investigation that spanned eight states. In total, officials say more than 450 pounds of cocaine with a street value of $40 million were confiscated. Police say members of the drug ring transported the cocaine from Mexico via California, using sophisticated compartments in audio speakers, foozeball tables and fish tanks.
Police have made eight arrests, three of whom were Long Islanders. The local men are identified as; Daniel Green, of North Babylon, who has worked as a teacher in the North Babylon School District and helped coach the girls' basketball team; Norman Goode, of Holtsville, who is a correction officer with the Suffolk County sheriff's department; and Billy Green, of Wheatley Heights, who is not believed to be related to Daniel Green.
