Police will be out in full force over the New Year's holiday looking for impaired and distracted drivers.
Drivers should expect to see increased patrols and checkpoints through Monday.
Police say anyone planning on drinking should have a designated driver or take a cab. They urge people to use ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft as well.
The state also has an app called "Have a Plan" to help people get home safely.
