Nassau police say a body found on the shores of the Hudson River in Rockland County today is that of the alleged gunman behind last week's workplace shooting in East Garden City.

Police confirm that Sang Ho Kim's body was found washed up on Iona Island just south of the Bear Mountain Bridge at around 9:30 a.m. The body was spotted by a recreational boater.

Police say it appears that Kim's body had been in the water for several days.

The discovery comes after an intense five-day manhunt. The search for the accused killer began after police say Kim opened fire inside a light fixture company, killing one worker and seriously injuring the firm's chief executive.

Hours after the shooting, Kim's car was found abandoned in the Village of Cold Spring in Putnam County.

A medical examiner will seek to determine Kim's cause of death.
