A bicyclist was killed by a car crash Saturday night in Mastic, according to police.

Authorities say an SUV was traveling south on Mastic Road when it hit a male riding a bicycle at around 9:40 p.m.

The bicyclist was then taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
