A man was fatally struck by a payloader Monday at a North Lawrence mason yard, police say.

A 33-year-old employee was operating the large construction vehicle when he struck the 54-year-old at around 9 a.m.

The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Michael Porter, of Bellport.
