Police say several cars had their tires slashed in a Ronkonkoma neighborhood.
Police say at least 20 tires were hit on Louis Kossuth Avenue from Easton Street past Peconic Street. Those are the only details they have released so far.
Residents woke up Wednesday to find flat tires on their parked cars.
"I couldn't imagine why somebody would do that. I don't have a problem with anybody," said Doreen Jane, who woke up to find two flat tires on her van.
"What's going through somebody's head? Why would they do this to random people they don't even know?" asked Henry Piacentino, whose Jeep’s tires were also slashed.
Piacentino was able to get his tires fixed on Wednesday, despite the fact that it was New Year’s Day.
“A lot of shops weren't open, but I found one up the block that usually isn't open, but I have a buddy who works there,” Piacentino said. "It’s just another expense that's unwanted."
