A woman is facing a slew of charges after police say she robbed a Suffolk County bank on Friday and then led police on a car chase.
Police say Julia Rigby robbed the New York Commercial Bank on Main Street in Babylon shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.
Investigators say she fled in a red car, which was described to police by witnesses at the bank. The car was spotted moments later in West Babylon, but when an officer tried to stop her, Rigby led police on a chase.
Police say she was arrested a short time later.
Rigby, 44, of Bayport, is also being charged for allegedly robbing a West Babylon bank earlier this month. Suffolk police say she is additionally facing charges of reckless driving for the chase, and petit larceny for allegedly stealing merchandise from a Kohl's department store back in February.
Police are investigating whether Rigby was behind other recent bank robberies in Suffolk County.
