Police on Long Island and in New York City stepped up security for Election Day.
Nassau and Suffolk police provided extra patrols, but officials say there were no credible threats to either county.
In New York City, there were 5,000 extra police officers on duty after unconfirmed threats suggested an attack plot Monday.
Aside from terror concerns, authorities expected a larger voter turnout than usual.
