An 82-year-old man died after police say he fell into the water in West Sayville.

News 12 is told Jan Zdenek was crabbing at the docks on West Avenue when witnesses found him in the water around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

People pulled Zdenek from the water and attempted to resuscitate him.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
