A 63-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car Friday evening in St. James.
Police say Anna Lopresti was hit around 6:45 p.m. as she crossed Middle Country Road near White Avenue.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died of her injuries.
The driver was not injured in the crash, but their car was impounded.
