Officials say four people were rescued after their canoe capsized in the Long Island Sound.
Police say Darwin Ortis, Adrian Selaya, Walter Noriega and Gelyn Linairs were in two canoes just north of Wading River Beach when they capsized and went overboard last night.
The water was about 58 degrees at the time when one of them was able to call 911.
Aviation officers located the four people and directed Marine Bureau officers to bring them to safety.
Two of the victims were taken to the hospital due to hypothermia.
