Police: 3 stores in Town of Riverhead busted during underage alcohol sting

Police are working with the Riverhead Community Awareness Program to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage children.

Police say three stores in the Town of Riverhead have been busted during an underage alcohol sting operation.
Riverhead police say an employee at the Sunoco on Middle Country Road in Calverton, the Mobil Gas Station on Main Street in Riverhead and the 7-Eleven on West Main Street in Riverhead have each been arrested following the investigation.
Police are working with the Riverhead Community Awareness Program to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage children.
A total of 16 other locations were found to be in compliance.
