Police: 3 people seriously injured in Village of Belle Terre crash

Suffolk County police say it happened on Cliff Road, between Old Homestead Road and Bell Circle, when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire at around 10:20 p.m.

Three people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash late Sunday in the Village of Belle Terre, police say.
Suffolk County police say it happened on Cliff Road, between Old Homestead Road and Bell Circle, when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire at around 10:20 p.m.
A Village of Belle Terre constable helped extricate the driver, 19-year-old Cole Girardi and his two passengers, 20-year-old Tyler Kjeka and 20-year-old Emma Angler from the vehicle.
The Port Jefferson Fire Department extinguished the car fire.
The driver and two passengers were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
