Police say two Long Islanders arrested in Rhode Island this week had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of heroin with them.
Police say an officer made the discovery after pulling over Kalen Antoine, of Hempstead, and Sergio Torres, of West Babylon, on Wednesday.
According to the Providence Journal, the officer knew something was amiss when the two gave conflicting answers to questions about where they were going, and there was also a smell of marijuana. A K-9 dog detected the presence of narcotics.
The heroin packets were disguised as packages of coffee beans, which had then been placed inside a box of Ensure nutritional shakes.
Police say the haul amounted to $800,000 worth of heroin.
Both were charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and Antoine was also charged with driving with a suspended license.
